Dear Summer:

2 Jun

Hi guys! Happy Hump Day!

I’m currently blogging from outside while enjoying the nice summer morning weather. Ahhhh. Dear Summer: Please stay forever. Thank you, Love Kristi.

Random Fact: I start off most days with a huge glass of lemon water immediately upon getting out of bed.

I have found that this has tremendously helped me to wake up and not feel groggy and tired. It immediately energizes me!

We all know what is great for us, so here are some of the benefits of lemon:

  • helps a sluggish digestive system
  • cleans toxins out of your body
  • high vitamin C content
  • promotes skin clarity
  • has an alkalizing and balancing effect on the body

Pretty nifty, eh? I usually use 1/2 lemon, squeeze it in about 2 cups of water, shake…then bottoms up. 🙂

Soon after, it’s time for breakfast!

Today was a dough bowl, aka April’s Overnight Cottage Cheese Muesli

The Mix:

  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup Oikos plain greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Kroger cottage cheese
  • 5 drops of vanilla stevia
  • tbsp Kroger natural creamy peanut butter

Never fails me. 🙂

Dinner last night was a good one!

Those would be some turkey veg meatloaf balls. I adapted a few recipes and came up with some major deliciousness. Recipe shall be posted soon! And what meal is complete without some green? Roasted brussels took care of that.

Then while I was patiently (read: jumping up and down) waiting for Glee to start, I whipped up a faux Wendy’s frosty:

1/2 cup almond milk, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/4 tsp xanthan gum, 1/4 tsp guar gum, stevia, ICE! Deeeelish. Janetha rocks.

I’ve got to get going and go off to work but I have a very important Q for you guys:

What are some good Summer reads???

I want to pick one out to take with me on our Mexico trip coming up in a few weeks. (weeeeee!)

Catch ya later, bloggies…Stay tuned for that turkey veg ball recipe. 😀

Kristi

Oooh, I am such a reader, so I’m the right person to ask. So far this summer, I’ve really enjoyed “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “The Art of Racing in the Rain”!!

Summer is the best, I agree 🙂 Right now I’m rereading Prep for the millionth time, which is an awesome book! Easy to read, but not fluffy and mindless.

Lemon water is the best! Sometimes we add cayenne pepper to it too in the morning, to rev up the metabolism, and clear the throat. A great summer read would be the last song

what a cute post! summer reads; hm that’s tough… I’m going to be satisfying my eleven-year-old craving for childish gossip and am going to look into Gossip Girls… is that bad? haha

After seeing the lemon water things in Glamour, I tried it too. I love it, it works! If you know what I mean. . . It also settles my obstinate stomach. Just be careful about the teeth corrosion. I’ve heard of people having problems. You may want to drink it through a straw to be safe.

eekk, thanks for the warning. I’m going to look into that some more.
