I’m a sucker

8 Aug

What a bloggie slacker I have been! Hehe…you know I love you all (and I have been keeping up with everyone!) but after getting sick, I just really needed a break not only physically but mentally as well. My mind was worn out so less computer time was needed.

I am very happy to report back today with good news!

I am finally feeling better! My body is bouncing back and I am no longer scrounging around with 1,000 pound legs (that is what they felt like to me haha). Now I am walking around light as a feather and I tell you what…I have never been more thankful! It really made me stop, take a step back, and realize how much I take for granted each day. Definitely NOT anymore! Guys, seriously every single little movement took all of my energy…this past month was tough to say the least. I am so thankful that God is healing my body and making me brand new again!

Sooo I never thought I would go a whole month without any form of exercise. That really just blows my mind! I’ve gotta admit that I was scared about not being able to workout like I usually do. I didn’t want to lose all the muscle and endurance I had. But guess what? I really have not noticed any big change in my body at all. And no, I haven’t gained 30 pounds either. 😉

Granted, I am so excited that exercise will be back in my life soon and I can’t wait to pump that iron again! But I look at exercise a bit differently now after this past month. There is absolutely NO need to push yourself to workout every.single.day. Now, I knew this before, but looking back, I would still feel a bit guilty or unaccomplished if I skipped a workout. Now I finally realize that exercise is all about balance! Rest is soooo important, too. So no more stressing about working out. I will do it when I want to, and rest when I want to. Simple as that!

Okay time to move on! How about I show you my most recent purchase?

A Nuwave Oven!

This morning while I was eating breakfast and relaxing on the couch, I decided to flip the T.V. on. Of course Sunday morning is filled with the dreaded Infomercials. But anything food or cooking related and you’ve got my attention. So I began to watch and learn about the miraculous Nuwave and how it could be the appliance of my dreams with just 3 easy payments of $39.95. 😉

Apparently it can basically do anything. Bake, cook, steam, air fry, dehydrate etc…like an all in one appliance. This would AMAZING to take with me to college next year! That is, IF it works.

I thought, yeahhhh suuuuuuure. But the more I watched the more I wanted it. Then my mom came in and started watching. We were goners all too easily.  There is a 90 day money back guarantee though, so we shall see! Not gonna lie, I’m excited.

Been loving some yummy eats lately! Here’s an overview:

Behold: The biggest Green Monster I’ve ever made!!!

  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup green tea
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 1 scoop berry Amazing Grass
  • 1 scoop Muscle Gauge Nutrition cake batter protein powder
  • 15 ice cubes
  • 1/2 tsp guar gum
  • 1/4 tsp xanthan gum

With oatie oats on the side. Just a simple mix of 1/2 cup oats cooked in 1 cup water with cinnamon and vanilla!

Creamy Oreo Oats:

Oats with dark chocolate cocoa powder, chocolate Amazing Grass, and stevia all plopped in the Oikos container! Holler to my fellow container-lovin’ sista! 😀

Cantaloupe with a Babybel cheese:

I have eaten SO MUCH cantaloupe lately!! Our grocery store has been selling these GINORMOUS ones, which basically look like melons on ‘roids. Lurve it.

A freaking awesome new combo from April!

Steam or sauté some cabbage or broccoli slaw then add in 1 cup of cooked egg whites made with some cream of tarter. I added lots of cinnamon and a bit of stevia. Then I topped it with a tbsp of nut butter. Awesomeness, April.

One of my favorite dinners as of late:

A combo plate! Lets see…we’ve got some sautéed spinach (with coconut oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper) roasted brussel sprouts, a baked sweet potato, a turkey burger, and 1 cup each of ketchup and mustard. Hahhha, I’m a bit obsessed lately.

I will be posting this recipe soon, promise! It rocked my world.

and a little dessert porn for your viewing pleasure:

Ice ream with molten chocolate sauce…also known as banana soft serve with protein batter, haha.

Today is a pretty chill day. I think I’m going to catch up on some Trashy TV, most likely in the form of Jershey Shore. I watch this show and I am not ashamed one bit.

Love you all and hope you have wonderful Sundays!

I’m curious..

What is the best thing you have ever bought from an infomercial?

What is the one thing you WANT to buy from an infomercial?

I haven’t tried the cabbage mix yet, but I want to! It looks so interesting! I guess I will buy some cabbage today when I get my last few groceries. 🙂

So glad that you are feeling better! I love reading your blog because we eat a lot alike. High protein, moderate carb. 😀 That green monster looks fantastic! I haven’t had a GM in forever. I need to make one soon.

A question: where do you buy your guar gum? I have searched high and low for it and have not found it anywhere!

That’s such a great lesson to learn.

Isn’t it crazy that your body is the exact same as when you exercised most everyday of the week?

    Definitely makes me think!

I’ve always wanted to buy that little oven, the GE Express I think its called? It cooks little cakes in 7 minutes!! 😀

I think since its been so hot here I’ve been craving things cold. Like those HUGE green monsters and protein ice cream. What will we crave in the winter? Green Monster porridge? hehe. I haven’t ever bought anything from an infomercial………..yet!
