Dress mission: accomplished

5 Apr

Dress pics at the end of the post! Hold your horses though, we’ve got other business first. 😉

Monday is DONE! Which means we are already that much closer to the weekend. But who’s keeping track?

I fought back the Monday Blues with a decedent bowl of oats for breakfast:

010 (5)

50 grams oatbran, 1 cup water, 80 grams pumpkin, 1/2 cup egg whites, cinnamon, ginger. topped with Sun Warrior protein cream (protein + almond milk + cocoa powder) and a fudgie.

Then it was off to the grind…school, work, you know the drill. I just have a bit over a month and I will be done for GOOD. Summer just sounds so amazing right now. I will get there soon enough!

Lunch today:

sweet potato, diced avocado, lean ground turkey, torn spinach, mustard.

pumpkin muffins + greek yogurt + drizzle of pure maple syrup

001 (8)

Kombucha lovin’

Dang, why is Kombucha SO GOOD?! But my budget hates them So… I have decided to try my hand at making my very own Kombucha! I recruited Lindsay, the Kombucha expect, for some help. Check out THIS page for her instructions on making your own. I am going to start soon. This shall be interesting!

work snackage:

003 (9)

You all know how I love my spaghetti squash boats…well I made up a new combo that is to die for!!!!

filling: Morningstar Farms soysauge, whole wheat sweet potato gnocchi (!!!), sliced green onion, and a vegan cream sauce consisting of silken tofu + nutritional yeast + salt + seasonings.

HOLY YUM. How is the world did I forget about gnocchi?!? It melts in your mouth and it just plain amazing. This made for one very satisfying tummy.

I’m about to dig into my evening snack of..

010 (7)

protein pancakes + dessert hummus + peanut butta

and who knows what else! I don’t post all that I eat, just the stuff that I take the time to picture! Lately It’s been much more, thanks to lifting weights. I honestly don’t know how many calories a day I burn and would love to buy a Body Bug one day because I think it would be really interesting. But for now, I just try to fuel as best as I can and make sure I don’t skimp. My body works hard every single day and I want to energize it with enough good fuel to keep me going!

Now on to the dress excitement!  I did indeed find my dress for Prom over the weekend. I will need a few alternations, but I am quite pleased with it! Phone pics comin’ at cha:

Now the hunt is for shoes. I’m not that worried about it though because I don’t think they will even show. Still, I will definitely be wearing heels at least for the picture taking…Lord knows I could use a couple extra inches! 😉

Deal of the Day: Bodybuilding.com is celebrating it’s 12th birthday and giving everyone 10% off with coupon code: BBCOM10. Off is good until 4/13/11. This could be a great time to try a protein powder, perhaps my beloved Sun Warrior?!

Your dress is beautiful! I remember when I bought my prom dress, such an exciting moment. 🙂 For a second I thought the protein cream on your breakfast was pb and I was like omg that is sooooo much nut butter! lol 😀

    • Sweet Cheeks April 5, 2011 at 5:25 pm #

Well hey, I couldn’t mind if it was all nut butter either…that’s not a bad idea at all actually. 😀

Did you make that Sun Warrior protein cream yourself then?

Kombucha! Every blog I read now drinks it. I have yet to try it. What’s so great about it?
Beautiful dress, by the way. (: The back of it is so pretty.

    • Sweet Cheeks April 5, 2011 at 5:24 pm #

Yes! I just mix together protein powder, cocoa powder, and a little bit of almond milk.

Kombucha is full awesome health benefits, especially probiotics. Many people who regularly drink them claim to never get sick. And they are just really delicious and fun. A great alternative to soda!

    Super cute dress!!

How did you make the vegan cream sauce? Also, how do you do your protein pancakes??

  12. Jen@jensdaily April 7, 2011 at 12:34 am #

That dress is gorgeous!!! I couldn’t justify the money for the bodybugg plus the money you have to spend on the website so I bought the Polar FT7. Even while lifting weights, it calculates my calorie burn for me, and if I chose to, I could wear it all day long to get a daily burn total.

  13. mindrunningwild April 7, 2011 at 12:36 am #

Your entire food ah! So So good! I love spaghetti squash boats- they are so easy to prepare and so versatile!
What a glamour shot in that dress!! work it!
do you have a recipe for the protein sauce on your oats? Looks delish. Do you have to have a specific kind of protein?

    • Sweet Cheeks April 8, 2011 at 2:08 pm #

I just mix together some Sun Warrior protein powder with a bit of cocoa powder and almond milk until I get the desired consistency. It’s super easy!
