My Protein Powder of Choice

15 Apr

Hi guys! Hope everyone’s week is going wonderfully! Mine has been flying by, which I love. Don’t forget to enter my Camelbak Groove Giveaway.  I will be picking the 5 winners tomorrow.

Today I wanted to talk about a new-to-me brand of protein powder, called True Protein. As I’ve discussed before, I am trying to keep artificial sweeteners to a minimum. So I’ve been on the hunt for the best naturally sweetened or plain options. At True Protein, you can completely customize your own protein powder at a very reasonable price. There are pre-mixed solutions or custom solutions, where you can create your own mixture of proteins, choose you sweetener (or leave it unsweetned), choose a flavor, and choose any other optional add-ins. Protein-wise, they have everything from whey, to brown rice, to casein, to pea…ANYTHING. And you don’t have to choose just one..you can do a mix of whatever ones you like, in whatever ratio you like.

They come in these big plastic bags, which I transfer to a container once I get them:

026 (2)

But they also have an option to receive it in a container with a scoop, for 75 cents per pound. I’m trying to save my money, so I went for the bag!

I’ve been using them almost exclusively lately because they have all that I need. Plus, it’s really fun to create your own mix and play around with different ratios. I just put in my second order and designed my own pre/post workout mix, and my own nighttime mix of casein. If you have any questions as to how it works, their customer service is spot-on…or you can always email me! 🙂

Eats

Remember that new bread I bought?

003

I told you the slices were big! I have tried it both sweet and savory.

004

bread + pb + banana, along with a protein green monter

Savory:

008

bread + almond cheese + greens + roasted red pepper hummus.

009

The verdict? This bread is really cool! I love the bits of sunflower seeds throughout the bread and it is a nice change from the usual light, fluffy breads. It is dense, nutty and delicious!

013

overnight bowl of 1/4 cup oats, 3/4 cup cottage cheese, 1/4 cup greek yogurt, 1/4 cup blueberries, a few drops of stevia, and almond butter.

014

roasted asparagus, baked lemon chicken (lemon juice, salt, pepper, parsley), roasted sweet potato fries and roasted beets.

015

more baked chicken, veg with hummus, fries, pumpkin muffin, tahini stuffed medjool date.

012

Sunflower bread sandwich with kale, laughing cow cheese, almond cheddar, and hummus. turkey muffins, hummus-massaged greens, and the last of the roasted beets.

010

apple slices, along with two muffins: 1 sweet, 1 savory.

006

goat’s milk yogurt with frozen defrosted fruit on top

016

my new favorite yogurt with walnuts! This goat milk yogurt is MUCH nicer to my stomach than cow’s milk. Yay!

002

cottage cheese bowl with strawberries and a pumpkin muffin with regular peanut butter and dark chocolate dreams peanut butter.

I’m going to get my workout on before it’s time for work!

How do you like goat milk yogurt?

I haven’t had much protein powder. I have some now, but I forget what it is. It’s vanilla and barely use it.
My favorite food right now is pineapple.

I am loving the goat milk yogurt! It is creamy and light tasting and doesn’t cause any stomach problems like regular yogurt does to me.
