Friday Faves: Food Edition

1 Jul

Hello everyone!

Where in the world did this week go? Where did this month go for that matter? I can not believe it’s July already. This will be my last full month at home before moving away for college. I’ve been dreaming about this time for so long and now it’s right in front of me. GAHHHH!

So Fridays are of course always a celebration. And what better way to celebrate than with some Friday Faves! I’m loving a lot of things right now but this round is dedicated to all the foodie deliciousness I’ve been consuming lately. So Grab a fork and dig in! 🙂

1. Photogenic Breakfasts

019

egg white oatbran (1/2 cup oatbran, 1/2 cup egg whites, 1 cup water) with fresh blackberries and Marantha peanut butter

2. New Nuttyness

013

Barney Butter crunchy (almond butter) and Marantha organic creamy peanut butter

The Barney Butter I’ve had before and adored, so needless to say I’m very happy to have it back in my life, even though that small container will only last me a few measly days. Good thing I went with my instincts and grabbed the Maranatha pb, too. I had not tried this one before and it is a creamy dream. Usually I NEED salt in my pb, but I didn’t even miss it with this one. New favorite pb! And that is one bold statement.

3. Fresh Summer Fruit

021

^ this x 1,000

Cantaloupe has got to be in the top three for my most favorite fruits of all time. It is SO GOOD. The only bad thing is when I go to cut one up to store in the fridge, I end up eating most of it in the process. Fail…Or Win?

4. All Things Stuffed

023

stuffed bell peppers with ground turkey, kidney beans, onions, tomato paste, salsa, italian seasonings

015

pizza stuffed portobello mushrooms with tomato paste, nutritional yeast, italian seasonings, onion, and kale (then topped with cottage cheese!)

Okay maybe not EVERYTHING stuffed, but peppers and portos are a-okay in my book. 😉

5. Coconutty Desserts

017

Chocolate Chia Protein Pudding with lots of shredded coconut and carob chips

Coconut makes me think of Summer time, beaches, pina coladas. Makes it very easy to *pretend* I’m on vacation while I eat it. Hey, If you can’t actually go on one, you gotta work with what you got. And I’ve got coconut.

What are your favorite Summer-time foods? It’s all about the fruits and veggies for me. Well, that and ice cream!

Plans for the holiday weekend? I’ve got my fingers crossed that I will score some good 4th sales. We shall see…

Have a great weekend!!!

Kristi
