New Stuff

4 Nov

Happy Sunday!

So far grocery shopping and enchi making have been checked off the weekend to do list. It’s amazing what an extra hour will do for productivity! Daylight Savings, I love you.

Just a few things to fill in the gaps. There are more peanut butter jars hiding behind the 4 pictured. He he.

Darn cheese got a little too crispy, but somehow I think I’ll manage.

This was a green chile mushroom version with fresh mozzarella which I think I will save for a recipe post later this week.

I have gotten the opportunity to try out a few new products that I felt were worth sharing. First up is a new protein.

Giant Sports Protein Powder

IMG 4047

Giant Sports is a new-to-me company that has proven itself to be top notch. Their protein features a blend of 6 different proteins, which when combined together, make for a very nice creamy texture. Their Delicious Protein line comes in chocolate, cookies and cream, and vanilla and I can say they are all fantastic! They are available through several online retailers, including

Chocolate: Think of a deep, dark, rich chocolate. It is one of the best chocolate protein I have ever tasted, mainly because it doesn’t leave any to be desired. The richness is very satisfying for anyone with a chocolate sweet tooth.

Vanilla: Their vanilla protein should be called vanilla caramel. You can taste the creamy vanilla, but there are definitely hints of caramel in it, which I personally really like. It’s not your pure, straight-up vanilla bean taste. It’s a unique vanilla, but they totally nailed it!

Cookies and Cream: Although all three are fantastic, I think cookies and cream might be my favorite! The name pretty much sums it all up. You get the super creamy texture and taste, with a hint of chocolate goodness.

If you are looking for a new protein, I would completely recommend Giant Sports. Good stuff indeed.

Next up, I must introduce to you my new favorite drink. Yes, favorite!

Tea Of A Kind

IMG 4082

The folks over at Tea of Kind generously offered to send me three of their bottled tea flavors to give a try.

Pomegranate Acai White Tea, Citrus Mint Green Tea, and Peach Ginger Black Tea.

They are lightly sweetened with just a pinch of cane sugar and stevia (3 grams of sugar per 8 oz serving, 6 per bottle) and have just 10 calories per serving (20 per bottle).

What is unique about these teas is how the bottle of plain water instantly becomes fresh, delicious tea after you twist the cap, what they call the Gizmo Closure.

From their website:

It’s not enough to just source premium ingredients. In order to deliver a superior tea experience, Tea of a Kind must preserve the natural essence of our teas until you choose to drink them. We have done this with the patented Gizmo closure, which protects the beneficial characteristics of our teas from degradation. Our innovative delivery system defends against exposure to UV light, oxidation, and other damaging conditions that bottled beverages confront in the warehouse, on the delivery truck and on the store shelf. So when you twist the Gizmo cap and see your Tea of a Kind burst in a plume of color, you can be confident that we are fulfilling our promise. Goodness grown. Goodness preserved. Goodness delivered.

It is a pretty neat concept and one that I have never seen before! The tea literally squirts and mixes into the water as you twist open the cap. As for the taste…just perfect. All three were not too sweet, but still sweet enough to make it a fun drink. Their website has a store locator or you can also buy them online if they aren’t currently sold in your area. (Like me, boohoo!)

Lastly, I have to give a shout out to my friend Amira and the Popchips Company!

PopChips Tortilla Chips

They sent me a nice goody bag filled with all the tortilla chip flavors.

Flavors Available:

Nacho cheese, Ranch, Salsa, and Chili Limon’

Crunchy, flavorful, and very light! They made quite the tasty snack dipped into some homemade ranch dip (ranch seasoning packet + greek yogurt). Since they are baked, the final product is less dense than your typically tortilla chip, but if you want just want something nice and light to satisfy a crunch craving, these should do the trick!

*Note that I was not paid to do any of these reviews, and all were my own, honest opinion. Hope you all enjoyed them!

Now I need to muster up some more productivity to study for yet another Chemistry exam tomorrow. Only 2 weeks until Thanksgiving Break! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. 😀
